I am spearheading a national campaign to alert Senators to the problems surrounding current legislation on Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID).
As the Conservative Candidate for Eglinton-Lawrence in the 2019 federal election, I sued Elections Canada, arguing that the election date conflicted with the Jewish holiday Shemini Atzeret and disenfranchised candidates, volunteers, and voters. I successfully obtained additional advanced pop-up voting stations and lobbied Elections Canada to consider religious holidays before scheduling future elections.
In fact, Stephane Perrault, CEO of Elections Canada contacted me recently to learn the dates of the Jewish holidays in the coming year. Should there be an election call, there would be no conflict as in 2019.
I volunteered with the Canadian Coalition against Terror (C-CAT) in advocacy efforts at the federal level on various projects. I specifically garnered signatures for Parliamentary Petition E-275 to keep Iran listed as a state sponsor of terror.
I volunteered on a campaign with Christian groups and the Jewish community arguing for fair funding of independent schools in Ontario.
I currently sit on the board of Canadians for Israel's Legal Rights (CILR) whose aim is to educate Canadian students about Israel's legal rights to the land and to counter the rise of Anti-Semitism.
I was born in NYC and raised in Toronto. I went to Eitz Chaim and Beth Jacob High School followed by Jacob Perlman Teachers' College and Maimonides College.
